I have a goal to read one fiction and one non-fiction book each month this year.
I started my non-fiction list with Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. Even though it’s about hospitality, I always read through this content with a lens of applying business concepts to healthcare, and this story is no exception.
If we applied just a few of the principles they used to create a world-class restaurant to our healthcare practices, it would not only send patient satisfaction scores through the roof 🔝, but it would also create a sense of pride as a healthcare professional.
My biggest takeaway from this read was that we feel good when someone takes care of us AND vice versa – when we take care of others.
At a time when overwhelm is high, it’s a great reminder that personal interactions will always be the one of the most important areas in healthcare and business.
