The CGM Revolution
In 2021, I started following the Glucose Goddess (Jessie Inchauspe) on Instagram.
Her posts convey scientific data that reflects a lower glucose spike when you change the order in which you eat your food. With my pharmacist lens, I was very intrigued with this data and read her book.
I thought about her book as we hosted our CGM CE training this past week with >1,200 attendees – The Rise of CGMs.
Did you know:
- The US spends more than $400 billion on diabetes care per year.
- Medical costs for diabetes continue to increase despite the advances in medication therapy.
- Technology, such as CGMs, is helping alleviate the financial burden and increase the quality of life for persons with diabetes.
Currently, there is a disconnect between available diabetes technology, provider education, and patient implementation.
That’s why we partnered with diabetes, wellness, exercise, and nutrition experts to create the Pharmacy and Continuous Glucose Monitoring: The Sweetest Pairing.
With this training, pharmacy teams can help patients achieve better health outcomes, enhance quality of life, and add revenue streams to their clinical practice.
If you attended our live CE, please reply back and let me know what you took away from the discussion, and what other topics you want to learn more about.
As always, have a great week and keep learning!

1. Education as a Value Proposition in Employee Retention
Looking to advance your value-add to your employees? Continuing Education (CE) is a guaranteed ROI that meets an annual need.
Because pharmacists and technicians need CE to renew their license or certification, as an employer you can help!
Provide them what they need through a CE Plan from CEimpact.Â
You can purchase it for them, or you can secure a discount for your group.
2. Are you a Preceptor?
If you precept students and/or residents, you know it is a big lift to mentor them through the clinical aspects of their training. But when these students and residents have a traumatic patient interaction, it adds an emotional element to their experience. Â
You won’t want to miss the latest episode of the Precept2Practice Podcast where we have an impactful conversation between a preceptor and her former resident who navigated a traumatic patient interaction… together.Â

3. On the podcast – All about CGMs this week!
Speaking of CGMs, this past week I talked with Jennifer Clements on the GameChangers podcast about the transformative impact of CGMs on diabetes care. Our discussion reminded me why it is so critical to stay current – not just on ADA recommendations and new medications, but new TECHNOLOGY. How often do we dismiss this and say it’s other providers’ responsibility to educate patients on CGMs? As technology rapidly evolves, it’s more critical that you stay up to date.Â
