Two Words: Snoop Dogg
I missed watching the Olympics this week. This year was better than the past for so many reasons:
- The coverage was non-traditional. You could catch it in real time or watch popular highlights.
- The commercials were inspiring. From Nike’s “winning isn’t for everyone” to Eli Lilly’s “you only get one body, let’s fight like hell for it.”
- The comic relief. The athletes were inspiring and the commentary was also funny and light-hearted which made it feel vulnerable and real.
- For the first time in history, we saw an equal number of men and women competing. This 50:50 representation of athletes makes the Summer Games the first to reach gender equality.
Last, but not least, was Snoop Dogg.
Do I need to say more?
Talk about reinvention!
Snoop Dogg’s career changes throughout his lifetime exemplify his vision and adaptability. From a rapper to an entrepreneur, he showed us that anyone can be successful throughout their career if they are innovative and resilient.
We could all learn from this, as our pharmacy careers can last more than 50 years! Over that time, it’s inevitable that we must reinvent ourselves – whether your career, your role on the pharmacy team, or your own personal brand within pharmacy.
Snoop Dogg reinvented himself by setting goals, shifting focus, and staying true to his passion.
The question is: How will you reinvent yourself in your pharmacy career?
As always, have a great week and keep learning (and laughing – it’s good medicine, isn’t it?)!
