Vitamin D: Repletion doses and the evidence of potential toxicity | GameChangers

Recently news suggests low vitamin D levels have been associated with increased risk of COVID-related morbidity and mortality. We know that vitamin D is a safe fat soluable vitamin that is difficult to “overdose” on.  What should the pharmacist know in terms of repletion dose and signs of toxicity? Since many patients do not get enough vitamin D in their diets, large medical societies and organizations recommend daily vitamin D for this reason.   This episode will focus not on the claims of efficacy of Vitamin D in COVID, but will instead discuss how your patients can replete vitamin D levels and the risks of toxicity in overrepletion.
