What were you born to do?

It’s March Madness. My family’s favorite time of year.

We have some friends who refer to the first day of the tournament as “Christmas morning.” Even if you don’t love college basketball, it’s a fun time when everyone rallies around hope for your team and a good “Cinderella Story”.

This year is no exception, and maybe even better given the Women’s Tournament is finally getting its due as well. Over the past four years, it’s been indescribable to watch Caitlin Clark change the face of women’s basketball, and in my opinion, women’s sports in general.

As I write this, I have goosebumps about what she has accomplished in her short 22 years of life, all of which our family has had the pleasure of knowing her and her family.

As we’ve watched her college basketball career unfold at the University of Iowa, it’s become clear that she was born to do this – break records, elevate women’s sports, give kids dreams to chase, and show how hard work pays off.

Of course, she’s athletic and talented.

But she didn’t get here without working hard, setting goals, and rising to every occasion that was presented to her. I believe she knows her destiny is to change the face of women’s sports and that it’s bigger than herself.

We were all born to do something.

My wish for each of us is that we recognize what it is we were born to do and do it with everything we have. Whether it’s being a parent, a caregiver, a health care professional, a teacher, a listener, or a change-maker. The list goes on.

No matter what your goal is, it requires hard work, practice, tenacity, strength through adversity, courage, and has risks and rewards.

When we figure it out, we have our own Cinderella Story.

As always, have a great week and keep learning!
Jen
