From Awareness to Action: Pharmacy’s Role in Combating Human Trafficking [Pharmacist]
This informative course will explore the global impact of human trafficking and its pervasive presence in local communities. Learners will review strategies for healthcare professionals to recognize signs of trafficking, offer support, and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams to impact change and resolution. Healthcare professionals hold a unique position of trust and compassion, often being the first point of contact for those affected by trafficking. Join our course as we highlight the importance of strong communication skills, review resources for victims, and discuss reporting strategies. Together, we can combat human trafficking and make a meaningful impact in our communities.

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Describe the types of human trafficking
2. Discuss the role of the pharmacy professional in the identification, recognition, and support of a victim of human trafficking
3. Recognize signs or behaviors that can identify a human trafficking victim in the pharmacy setting
4. Outline interviewing and questioning techniques to assist in communication and identification of possible human trafficking victims
5. Identify resources available for human trafficking victims and appropriate reporting strategies
