Severe food allergy incidence has increased significantly in the US in the last 40 years. This can be life threatening and cause significant decreases in QOL. Although immunotherapy can help many patients still have severe reactions when accidentally exposed to the allergen in question. A new study looks at the utility of omalizumab in preventing food allergy reactions. We also review the new AAAAI guidelines on anaphylaxis with an update for pharmacists and primary providers.

1. Discuss the OUtMATCH study results and their relevance to patients with food allergies.
