Harassment and Employment Issues in Pharmacy 2024 [Technicians]
This course is designed to provide pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students with an introductory overview of the major topics related to equal employment laws, discrimination and harassment in healthcare organizations, and more specifically pharmacy practice. Now more than ever it is imperative for healthcare practitioners to provide a working environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based course, technicians should be able to:
1. Describe the impact of Title VII of The Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 on employment laws.
2. Compare and contrast Disparate Treatment and Adverse Impact Discrimination.
3. Describe what is meant by the term sexual harassment.
4. Compare and contrast quid pro quo harassment and hostile work environments.
5. Describe and discuss the Equal Employment Opportunity Act and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
6. Discuss how to prevent harassment and potential actions to take should allegations of harassment occur in the workplace.
