Semaglutide vs Liraglutide for Weight Reduction

The STEP 8 trial compares the efficacy of once-daily subcutaneous liraglutide with weekly semaglutide on reducing weight in overweight and obese patients. Take this Journal Club CE to learn the strengths and limitations of the study, and how the findings impact practice and patient outcomes.

1. Compare the efficacy of weekly semaglutide and daily liraglutide on reducing weight in persons overweight and obese.
2. Compare the adverse effects of semaglutide and liraglutide when used in persons overweight and obese.
3. Describe the strengths and limitations of the STEP 8 Randomized Clinical Trial.
4. Identify patients who may be a candidate to receive semaglutide for weight management
5. Select the best glucagon-like peptide-1 analogue for weight management in a given patient
