This course compiles the most current asthma management recommendations so pharmacists can assess patient risk factors, choose the correct medications, and effectively educate patients on how to manage asthma triggers and exacerbations.
Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Identify changes to asthma treatment recommendations that have occurred over the past few years
2. Assess patients for risk factors of poor asthma outcomes in the pharmacy setting
3. Describe methods to manage asthma triggers at home
4. Recognize a serious asthma exacerbation requiring immediate treatment to an exacerbation that may be managed at home
